5 Things I Understand


  1. Andy had his sister Portia ask Sookie to help him prove that he didn't kill LaFayette.

  2. Bill and Sookie were going to Dallas to find out what happened to a missing vampire.

  3. There are special services that transport vampires safely on airplanes.

  4. There is a vampire that caters to vampires that includes humans who voluteer to have their blood drank by the vampires to heavy bodygaurd protection so that the vampires cannot be harmed.

  5. Vampire nests in major cities are larger than those that you would find in a normal town.

4 Questions I Have



  1. Is something bad going to happen to Bill and Sookie while they are in Dallas?

  2. Are there still faeries or do they even exist?

  3. Who was that fake priest and why was he trying to kidnap Sookie?

  4. Does the vampire that tried to steal Sookie have something to do with the missing vampire?

  1. Surreptitious- acting in a stealthy way

  2. Obsequious- characterized by or showing servile complaisance or deference; fawning

  3. Thoroughfare- a road, street, or the like, that leads at each end into another street.

1 Summary



  1. Bill and Sookie go to Dallas. At the Dallas Airport a fake priest tries to kidnap Sookie but is not successful. Then they head to the vampire hotel where they meet the ancient looking vampire Isabel. Then they went to the vampire leader of Dallas' nest. At Stan Davis' nest he informs Bill and Sookie on what they know about the missing vampire.

5 Things I Understand
  1. Sookie was attacked by a maenad as a message to Eric.
  2. Sookie may die if Bill doesn't come back and find her quick.
  3. Sookie had to have all her blood removed and given a blood transfusion to remove the poision from the wound left by the maenad.
  4. You have to pay tribute to a maenad or she "send madness" upon someone or something.
  5. Sookie has to go to Dallas to go use her mental powers to help eric out.

4 Questions I Have

  1. What exactaly is a maenad?
  2. What tribute are Eric, Bill, Sookie and the others going to offer to the maenad as an offering?
  3. Could LaFayette been a tribute to the Maenad?
  4. What do maenads look for in a tribute?

  1. Tuft- a bunch or cluster of small, usually soft and flexible parts, as feathers or hairs, attached or fixed closely together at the base and loose at the upper ends

  3. Palpable- readily or plainly seen, heard, perceived, etc.; obvious; evident

1 Summary

  1. Sookie was attacked by a maenad as a message to Eric that he and the other vampires need to pay tribute to her. Sookie almost died but a hobbit looking doctor treated her outer wounds but since the poison from the maenad was in sookie she ordered that the vampires need to take all of the blood out of her and then give her a blood transfusion. Then Eric told Sookie and Bill they need to go Dallas to do a job for him.

LIVING DEAD IN DALLAS #1

5 Things I Understand
  1. Someone killed Lafayette and is maybe trying to frame Andy Bellfleur.

  2. Eric is requesting(ordering) Sookie to do a job for him.

  3. Sookie is a very independent person and does not like to be spoiled or told what to do.

  4. Bill's source of income is the rent he gets from the strip mall he owns.

  5. Sookie is mad at Bill for trying to control what she does.

4 Questions I Have

  1. Who killed Lafayette?

  2. Is someone trying to frame Andy Bellefleur?

  3. What does Eric want Sookie's powers for?

  4. What is going to happen to Sookie in the middle of no where all alone?

  1. Addled- to make or become confused

  2. Pekinese- one of the Chinese breed of small dogs having a long, silky coat.

  3. Coy- showing reluctance

  1. Personification- "Summer just hates to let go..."

  2. Simile- "hung around her face like wilted daisy petals,"

Summary

  1. In the first 29 pages of the book someone killed Lafayette and placed him in Andy Bellfleur's car. Then Eric summoned Bill and Sookie to Fangtasia. On the way to Fangtasia Bill's car breaks down and Sookie storms off into the woods to teach Bill a lesson while Bill goes to look for a mechanic.
