5 Things I Understand




  1. Gallien thinks that Alex is educated because of the way he talks.


  2. Alexander Supertramp is just a made up name his real name is Christopher McCandless.


  3. Chris did die on the stampede trail from starvation.

  4. Chris does not believe that respect can be bought which is why he will not except a new car from his parents.

  5. Chris starts his trip without letting anybody know what he was up to.

  1. Why does every chapter begin with some type of quote?


  2. Will Chris make it out of the Stampede trail alive?

  3. Did Chris' family have problems?

  4. "this peice of shit has been abandoned" Why would Chris put a sign like that on his Datsun? it seemed as though he loved that car.

1 Summary



  1. What happened in the first 40 pages of Into the Wild is that in the first of the pages are the finding of Chris McCandless' dead body. After that the story starts from the beginning of Chris' journey. They mention where chris is from and his graduation ceramony. Then it goes in to how chris left without letting anybody know he was leaving and then into his trip. Chris' first stop was the dessert where he got chaught in a flash flood and had to abandon his beloved car. Then Chris tried to kyak down a river to the ocean but just ended up in mexico and had to try and find a way to get back into the united states. And then at last Chris ended up hitch hiking back up to Las Vegas.
